Instant Messaging proved useful in reducing workplace interruption

According to a recent study, Instant messaging has been proven to reduce interruptions at workplace. This study was done at Ohio State University and University of Canada. A challenge was raised/confronted that instant messaging increases interruption and reduces productivity. This study showed that instant messaging actually decreases interruption and moreover makes it that much easier for coworkers to stay connected. When using instant messaging in the workplace, discussions were briefer and more on topic.

Forms of instant messaging such as: e-mail, BBM, WhatsApp and etc. are some of many successful instant messaging. This makes it easy for coworkers to see when they are available and set up convenient meetings and timings for everybody without having to talk to each coworkers one by one. One of the best things/tactics about instant messaging is that it allows you to reach many people at one time. For example, WhatsApp allows you to create group chats and name them accordingly. This way a whole bunch of coworkers are interacting from wherever they are very conveniently.
